Pro Career
Ben was drafted by the Ravens as the 29th pick in the 1st round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He was named to the Pro Football Weekly/Professional Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie Teamwhile earning extensive action as a rookie, playing in all 16 games, including 12 starts at RG in 2007.  He has appeared in 34 games as a Raven, starting 30 of them including 3 playoff starts.

College Career
During his career at Auburn University, Ben never missed a game and started 37 straight contests. He also completed his final two seasons as a collegian by leading the Southeastern Conference in blocking assignment percentages. During his Auburn career he blocked for NFL RBs Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown, Kenny Irons, and QB Jason Campbell. He also starred alongside the highly regarded left tackle for the San Diego Chargers, Marcus McNeill. Ben was named to the All-SEC 1st-team by The Sports Xchange and The NFL Draft Report as a junior. Consensus All-SEC 1st-team preseason pick as well as adding All-American 1st-team honors from Rivals.com. All-American and All-SEC 1st-team selection by The NFL Draft Report and was rated the best guard prospect in the country by that scouting service and ESPN as a senior in 2006. All-American and All-SEC 1st-team selection by The NFL Draft Report as a senior. Ben completed his degree from Auburn, graduating with a Bachelor's in Public Administration in May 2006.
